Ngerebong is a special trance ceremony performed in Petilan Pengerebongan temple in Denpasar, Bali, once in the 210 day Kaliwon calender. The black magic of Rangda, the queen of the dark, coerces the devotees to stub themselves with a kris, but the mighty Barong protects them from being perforated.
